Raquel Hercules shows off her baby girl Zara Carballo....
THREE women became new mothers on Mother’s Day on Sunday. Their bundles of joy were delivered at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
The first — a baby boy entered the world at about 12.50 am, weighing 3.170 kg.
His mother, Gail Holder, 40, of Port-of-Spain, is yet to name her baby boy. She said on Sunday she was happy after she delivered her third child.
“I am happy as every mother should be. I have two other children but it is nice to have an addition to the family. I thank God for having a safe delivery and I would trust Him in raising my newborn, together with my other two children.
The second Mother’s Day baby was a girl, delivered at around 1.55 am to first-time mother, Raquel Hercules, 25, of Tacarigua.
Hercules expressed sheer delight and proudly revealed her baby’s name as Zara Caraballo.
“I went into labour around 4.30 pm on Saturday and around 1.55 am gave birth to my first baby. I am so happy. The experience was a nice and memorable one and I cannot wait to take my baby home to my mother, Lucy, that’s her first grandchild and my brothers and sisters, their first niece — so everyone is excited,” Hercules said.
The third baby — Momma’s boy entered the world at around 2.22 am.
His proud parents — first time dad Peter Boodoo and a mother of four Geeta Ramoutar-Boodoo — are yet to name their baby. The Cocorite couple smiled when asked about the birth of their baby.
Boodoo said: “I am just happy to have a son. It feels really good to be a father.”
