A soldier was yesterday denied bail when he appeared before a magistrate in the Chaguanas Court.

Private Gary John, 28, of Pashley Street in Laventille, is jointly charged with Marvin Pierre, 31, of Ajodah Road, El Soccoro, and Anthony Gittens-Solomon, 25, of Rock City, Laventille.

They are all accused of having illegal firearms in their possession and three counts of robbery.

The three were arrested by police on the Caroni Savannah Road, Chaguanas, on March 12.

They were refused bail by Senior Magistrate Nanette Forde-John pending a trace on them and were remanded in custody.

They are to reappear in court tomorrow.
