FORMER Pan American gold medalist Sifu Khabir is launching a series of workshops and seminars on “Tai Chi for Health and Longevity.”

The sessions will be staged in Tobago, San Fernando, Arima, Diego Martin, St Augustine, Port-of-Spain and Chaguanas.

Khabir is a USA five-time Hall of Fame award recipient and has taught and studied in England, USA, Canada, South and Central America and the Caribbean for many years.

Khabir explained that the practice of Tai Chi and Chi Kung (Qigong) is the act of bringing awareness and skill to direct the function and movement, Qi.

Tai Chi (Taiji) and Chi Kung (Qigong) must be something that is not just an intellectual pursuit or something to study but should be applied to life. The process teaches naturalness and improves one’s sense of well- being. Qigong (Chi Kung) theory dictates that intention (Yi) directs the movement of Qi, which in turn directs the flow of blood in the body. Increased or decreased electrical activity in specific areas of the body determines blood flow and fluid balance, accumulation and dispersal of substances.
