RAFFICK MOHAMMED and his common-law wife Rosanna Seemungal died together but their relatives held separate funerals for them. Mohammed was Muslim and Seemungal, Hindu.

The two were gunned down while sitting in a fish stall at Aranjuez on Monday at about 1 am. Out of that incident, ‘community leader’ Mervyn “Cudjoe” Allamby was shot dead near the same fish shed two hours later.

On Tuesday, Mohammed was buried at the El Socorro Muslim cemetery at about 4 pm after a service at the El Socorro Nur E Islam Mosque.

Yesterday at 8 am, a funeral service was held at the Lange Park, Chaguanas home of Seemungal’s relatives. She was cremated at the Caroni Cremation site.

A relative said Seemungal was a private person and wanted a simple funeral service and her wishes were complied with. Pradeep Ramnine, owner of Carlos Bar who survived the shooting attack, remains warded in serious condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mt Hope. He is yet to be interviewed by police.

Yesterday, Allamby’s sister, Sharon Roberts, said his funeral will take place as scheduled tomorrow at the Febeau Village Basketball Court. It was revealed that several Jamaican reggae artistes including Jah Cure and Sizzla will attend the funeral.
