Market activity remained strong with 787,640 shares crossing the floor of the exchange for a value of $18.33 million. Sagicor Financial Corporation was the most active security, accounting for 57 per cent of market volume with a total of 448,343 shares trading for a market value of $7.61 million. The non-banking finance sector led with a volume of 512,114 at a value of $8.16 million.

Advances were the order of the day with nine securities increasing. Of the advancing securities, five recorded their 52 week highs. ANSA McAL Limited jumped $3.98 to $54.00 while Neal & Massy Holdings Limited climbed $1.39, finishing at $49.50. Volume leader Sagicor Financial closed at $17.03, up $0.78 and was followed by Scotiabank Trinidad & Tobago Limited which added $0.50 to end the day at $35.50. Trinidad Cement Limited gained $0.02 to $8.02. Trinidad Publishing Company Limited was up $1.05 to $20.00.

There was no activity on either the Mutual Fund or Second Tier markets.

The Composite Index added 12.79 points to close at 1,030.58, while the All T&T Index increased by 18.73 points to 1,319.76.
