A CRIME scene investigator trained under the Special Anti-Crime Unit of Trinidad and Tobago (SAUTT) testified on Thursday in the preliminary inquiry into the murder of Police Constable Chris Barrath.

Davon Walker, of Arima, and Kernel Charles, of Port-of-Spain, are charged with the policeman’s killing. When the matter was called before Chief Magistrate Sherman Mc Nicolls in the Port-of- Spain Eighth Court, WPC Nalini Ramai testified in the inquiry.

She was led in evidence by prosecutor Randall Hector as the accused looked on in the absence of their attorneys. Wayne Sturge appears for Charles, while Keith Scotland and Asha Watkins are representing Devon Walker.

Barrath, 35, an officer attached to the Police E-999 Unit, was stabbed to death during a robbery outside the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ Court at the intersection on Duke and St Vincent Streets, on February 9. The hearing was adjourned to October 13.
