Prime Minister Patrick Manning is now on the hunt for a new barber as his regular died last Monday.

Manning attended Cyril “Pedro” Villafana’s funeral at Our Lady of Perpetual Help RC Church on Harris Promenade, San Fernando, yesterday and confirmed that he last got his hair cut by Villafana three weeks ago.

Villafana, eulogised as a legend in barbering, took over as the Prime Minister’s barber in 1962.

“I knew Pedro ever since he came to San Fernando,” Manning said, as he said the two of them were very close.

“ We had a very close relationship,” Manning said.

Villafana died at the San Fernando General Hospital at the age of 61.

His death announcement said he was a friend of the Prime Minister and of Errol Mc Leod, former president of OWTU.

Mc Leod was also present at the funeral. Fr Allan Ventour delivered the homily.
