Concerned about the safety of an elderly Polly Rajnath, a neighbour called the People’s Hotline for assistance in restoring the former’s telephone service which has been down for the past seven months.

The People’s Hotline received a call from an anonymous neighbour who said that the Rio Claro resident who lives in solitude has not had a working telephone since July, 2007.

The caller described Rajnath as “exposed” to the criminal elements without a telephone. She said that she worries for the senior citizen and wondered what would happen in the event of an emergency.

She said that she has reported the matter to TSTT on many occasions. However, the telephone is still dysfunctional.

The People’s Hotline forwarded the relevant information to TSTT and an official said the matter would be investigated.
