KINGSTON—Opening batsman Brenton Parchment will captain a Jamaica XI to face touring Australia in a three-day practice match at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium starting on Friday.

Parchment is one of three players in the local side with West Indies Test experience for the fixture.

Wicket-keeper/batsman Carlton Baugh and batsman Xavier Marshall are the other players in the line-up with appearances at the highest level on their log.

The game will be the Australians’ only warm-up match before the first Test against West Indies starting on May 22 at Sabina Park in Kingston.

Left-arm spinner Nikita Miller, who was the top wicket-taker in the 2008 Carib Beer Series, is also in the 13-man Jamaica select squad.

The all-rounder Nkruma Bonner, who played for West Indies in the Under-19 Youth World Cup in Malaysia earlier this year, has been named as a reserve, along with Chadwick Walton, Dennis Bulli, and Dwight Stewart.
