Four personal digital assistants (PDAs) belonging to attorneys in the Attorney General’s office have been stolen.

The hand-held devices were discovered missing on Tuesday when employees returned to work after the long Easter weekend.

According to police sources, the PDAs, each valued at an estimated $2,200, were stolen from two offices which were left open to facilitate the cleaning of air-conditioning vents.

According to a police source, several people were in and out of the Cabildo Chambers building on St Vincent Street, Port-of-Spain during the weekend.

It was still uncertain, however, whether any top secret information had been lodged in these devices, the source said.

Investigators said they were following several leads, including surveillance recordings to help catch the thieves. Investigations are continuing. (IS)
