The
first Lumen Media Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday
at the Assumption Church Hall on Long Circular Road, beginning
at 7 pm.
A release said yesterday the award ceremony was a joint
venture between the Catholic Media Services Limited (CAMSEL)
and the Media Association of T&T (MATT).
It said the awards were aimed at enabling media practitioners
to showcase expertise in their fields (print and electronic)
and also demonstrate to their peers and competitors their
ability to produce effective communication products, while
maintaining high ethical standards.
The awards cover print, television/film and radio. The Theme
for this year’s competition is based on the annual
World Communications Day message of Pope Benedict XVI.
Archbishop Edward Gilbert is expected to attend the function.
