Police arrested 11 men at Dan Kelly Village, Picton, Laventille, during a raid late Friday night, after they found guns, ammunition and camouflage clothing.

Three of the men were suspected of robbing and terrorising students at schools in the Laventille area for the past two months.

One of the men was held on outstanding warrants.

Police reports state the men were found with a .357 revolver, a 9 mm pistol, 57 live rounds of ammunition, as well as a camouflage uniform.

The exercise started around 10 pm and ended around 7 am yesterday.

The raid was headed by Sgt Sahadeo Singh and included officers from the Besson Street CID Inter-Agency Task Force, Port-of-Spain Divisional Task Force and soldiers.

Students of the Laventille Vocational Technology Centre and students of the Success/Laventille Composite School were said to have been victims of robberies for the past two months.

The police are calling on the robbery victims to come to the Besson Street Police Station to identify the suspects and to claim a quantity of cellphones which were seized from the men.

Police said last Thursday three students and one teacher were robbed outside the secondary school compound in open view.
