Prime
Minister Patrick Manning yesterday remained mum on the rejection
of Senior Supt Stephen Williams as the PSC's choice for Police Commissioner.
Pressed
for answers by reporters after the Must graduation ceremony at UTT,
Manning said he had nothing to say.
Yesterday
the matter was debated in Parliament and our two ministers spoke,
all that has to be said was said in Parliament yesterday, I have
nothing more to add to that, he said hastily.
Asked
if there was a secret meeting with Williams as was reported in the
media last week and which was reiterated by Opposition Chief Whip
Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj in Parliament yesterday, Manning said, By
now you should know that you must not listen to what Mr Maharaj
says, I did meet with Mr Williams but he (Maharaj) does not know
what it was about.
Questioned
further about if he intends to take Maharaj to the Privileges Committee
for the allegations made against him, Manning added, I dont
have time to waste, Ramesh Maharaj does not occupy my time folks,
I know him too well.
Enjoy
your day, he said, before hurriedly being whisked away to
a waiting car by his security detail. Leah Sorias
