Drifters in by three in ‘Tyro’ Sunday, April 6 2008
DRIFTERS scored an exciting three-run victory over Poison when action in the bgTT-sponsored Tyro Sports club Day/Night Windball Cricket League opened.
The drifters struggled to 54 runs for nine wickets in their 12 overs led by Ricardo Rampersad with 17. Franklin Neru took three for six runs for Poison in Saturday’s match.
When Poison batted, they were tied down by Trevor Robinson who took three wickets for nine runs and Kent Britto two for nine and they replied with 51 for five in their 12 overs.
On Monday, United Progressors won by 10 runs over Have Fun while Jaggan United also won by 10 runs over Blazers United.
But San Juan San Juan thumped Old School by 69 runs after scoring a massive 133 for five in their 12 overs with John Bernard hitting an unbeaten 50.
Bernard later completed a fine allround display taking two wickets for nine runs as Old School were kept to 64 for eight in their 12 overs.
