Cops find kidnap ‘camp’

Tuesday, May 13 2008

SENIOR police sources from the Anti-Kidnapping Squad (AKS) yesterday revealed that the kidnappers of Philippa Talma kept her for sometime in a forested area near the Saddle Road in Santa Cruz.

This after the officers followed tyre tracks in an area of the forest which was cleared. The tracks led to a river where Talma’s handbag containing her Driver’s Permit, bank card and other documents were found.

Police sources said they believe Tamla may have been kept inside a car and also in a tent in the forested area before she was moved. Talma was released on the weekend after a ransom of $60,000 was paid.

AKS officers reportedly spoke to her yesterday on her kidnapping which took place on May 2 outside her Maraval boutique.

A release issued yesterday by the woman’s relatives thanked the authorities for their investigation and those who prayed and offered support to them during the kidnapping.
