DUBAI—Only marginal changes surfaced in the latest LG International Cricket Council (ICC) Test players’ ratings after recent matches, West Indies against South Africa and New Zealand versus Bangladesh.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul, the only West Indies player with a Top-ten rating on the list, retained the No 8 batting position he held at the last ratings’ release and there is actually no change to the either the batting or bowling Top-10.

Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara keeps the top spot in the batting, ahead of South African Jacques Kallis with the Australia captain Ricky Ponting at No 3

Chris Gayle, the West Indies captain on tour of South Africa—at No 25—is the only other West Indies batsman among the Top 30.

The Sri Lankans also boast the No 1 bowler in spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, and he leads South African Dale Steyn, with the Australian pacers Stuart Clark and Brett Lee at three and four, respectively.

Corey Collymore, at No 12, is the only West Indian among the Top 30 bowlers.

Kallis retains the No.1 position among all-rounders, ahead of England’s Andrew Flintoff, while Daniel Vettori, of New Zealand, moves up one place to No 3.

On the team list, No.2 South Africa and No 7 New Zealand registered series wins over West Indies (2-1) and Bangladesh (2-0) respectively, but were unable to improve their positions.
