What we are doing is but planting mustard seeds in Latin America with the hopes of

developing into the largest of shrubs

The T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce said yesterday its recently concluded trade and investment mission to Central America was a “resounding success.”

It was the first services trade & investment mission to Central America, and the first mission of any kind from T&T to El Salvador. The mission also went to Costa Rica and Panama.

One member of the mission said “the matchmaking/one-on-one business meetings were really excellent.”

Chamber president Ian Collier, said, “What we are doing is but planting mustard seeds in Latin America with the hopes of developing into the largest of shrubs.”

Deputy permanent secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry Roslyn Khan-Cummings, delivered her official addresses in Spanish at business forum luncheons in the three territories visited by the mission. She commended the initiative stating that “this mission is timely especially now with the onset of free trade agreements between the Caribbean Community (Caricom) and Central America.

The mission showcased the products of 15 companies.

It was organised in conjunction with the Americam Chamber of T&T (Amcham); the Business Development Company and the South Trinidad Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
