Carenage Boys, 'Caps' Girls reach semis
...Primary Schools final four clash tomorrow

Defending Atlantic LNG National Primary Schools Football League champions Carenage Boys Government are one win away from the final after shooting past Tobago's Montgomery Government at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva last Thursday.

Carenage's main goalscorers Kadeem Hutchinson and Kathon St Hillaire were once again on the scoresheet, Hutchinson netting twice and St Hillaire once to pave their team's path into tomorrow's semi-finals at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

Carenage were joined by San Fernando Boys RC, La Horquetta North Government and Arima Boys RC in the "semis", as each of these teams also had quarter-final wins.

San Fernando turned back Tobago's Whim Anglican, running past their opponents 3-1 at the same venue.

The teams were locked at 1-1 after Whim equalised through Richard Kennedy, who cancelled Quacy Cooper's early goal. But a double strike by Shemar Ravello settled the issue for the Southerners, who gained revenge over the same team that knocked them out at the same stage in 2007.

Also at the Ato Boldon Stadium on Thursday, La Horquetta North beat Egypt Village Government 3-1 on goals from Akeel Alfred (two) and Neveal Hackshaw, Kestwin Goolie netting Egypt's lone goal.

Six-time winners Arima, playing at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar, trounced Guayaguayare RC 7-2 to grab the fourth and final semi-final spot.

Renaldo Francois pounded in four goals for Arima, while Brando Caldero scored two and Hakeem Lee the other.

Guayaguayare's pair of goals came from Darion Flemming.

Among the primary school girls, favourites Carapichaima RC's Rhonique Alexander and Zoe Swift combined to hit nine goals past Lower Cumuto Government in a 9-0 thrashing.

Alexander beat the Lower Cumuto goalkeeper six times, while Swift knocked home her second successive hat-trick, as the young "Caps" girls grabbed the big win.

The other teams in the Girls Division semis include Egypt, Patna/River Estate Government and Palo Seco Government.

Egypt were on a quarter-final bye, while Patna and Palo Seco scraped through on sudden-death penalties after 0-0 regulation scores. The Girls' semis will also take place at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
