THE well-galloped Captain America looks the pick of the eight-horse field in the feature Restricted Handicap on Arima Race Club Day 15 at Santa Rosa Zpark, Arima, today.

With apprentice Stanley Chadee likely to be in the irons, the six-year-old Barbados-bred gelding will get an extra three kilo pull in the weights and should give trainer Christopher Prime his first winner on his return from a short suspension. But it will be no stroll in the park with Ascot warrior, Be Alert and Latin Lady holding the engagement.

An interesting event will be the fourth on the day’s eight-race card in which newcomer Moygaddy will be making his debut. This American-bred four-year-old owned by ARC president Kama Maharaj, has been showing a lot of spark at gallops .

Also holding this engegement, the Conditional Handicap “A” over 1100 metres are noted speedsters Keep The Faith, Luca’s Gold and Lit d’Amour.

Keep The Faith has been in tremendous form lately, and must go to the post as favourite to win especially with leading rider Ricardo Jadoo in the saddle.

Once again, turfites will get their acid test with the new betting rage, the Hi 5 which off course will be in the day’s fifth race.

There are 14 runners in the field for this 1500 metres event on the turf course but two will be eliminated.

The top quintet in this should be All Royalty, a winner last time out, Salute The Colours, On The Mark, Isle Be Alert and Rohana.

A permutation with these five should not be far off from giving the lucky punter the estimated $50,000 pool or a share of it.
