A good all-round performance by Rishi Bachan enabled PowerGen to claim first innings points over W Connection Wanderers in Round Three action of the Eastern Credit Union League at Syne Village, Penal, yesterday.

Bachan took three for 28 as Wanderers were dismissed for 89 in their first innings. Also creating havoc for the Wanderers batsmen were spinners Varoon Samaroo who took three for eight and Samuel Badree finishing with figures of three for 24. Bachan then paced his team to first innings points with a knock of 63. Jason Mohammed scored 57 as PowerGen closed on 136 for four with a lead of 47 runs. Atiba Allert was the most successful Wanderers bowler finishing the first day’s play with figures of three for 29.

In the other matches Ceramic Merry Boys are poised to claim first innings points over Clico Preysal while the match between Munroe Road and First Citizens Clarke Road is evenly placed.

In the National Division II, British American Aranjuez scored 220 batting first with Malcolm Ramlogan, 58 not out and Saheed Mohammed, 34 the main contributors. In reply Defence Force were 47 for two as the close of play.
